Late Kemp Goal gives London 4-3 Win over Strathroy

A goal by London National Austin Kemp with 67 seconds remaining in regulation time completed a third period comeback as the visiting London Nationals edged the Strathroy Rockets 4-3 at the West Middlesex Memorial Centre on October 18, 2014.

The Nats scored first on a goal by former Rocket Trevor Dulong. The Rockets would take a first period lead on a pair of goals by Stuart King and Nick Boyer.

Drew Worrad would score the only goal of the second period to pull the game even at 2-2 heading into the final period.

Rocket Matt Laberge would score his first career goal to give the Rockets a 3-2 lead just 18 seconds into the third period but a pair of goals by former Rocket Mike Woolley at 10:35 and the game winner by Austin Kemp with 67 seconds remaining in regulation time would earn the victory for the Nationals.

The win allowed the Nationals to slip past the Rockets into seventh place in the GOJHL Western Conference standings.

Final shots favoured London 45-38 including a 16-7 spread in the third period.

London went 0 for 3 on the powerplay while Strathroy was 0 for 2.

Justin Tugwell earned the win in goal for the Nationals while Mat Ouellet took the loss for the Rockets.

Rocket Mark MacAulay and National Justin Murray engaged each other in a second period tussle.
