Unlikely Combatants Drop Gloves at WMMC

Although London National Justin Murray may have not fared well in this dust up with Strathroy Rocket Mark MacAulay, the Nationals came out on top in the long run.  The two unlikely combatants were ushered from the game at 5:27 of the second period with the Rockets leading 2-1.  The Nationals lost underage 16-year-old defenseman Murray for the balance of the game while the Rockets had to play without 20-year-old forward MacAulay who leads the Rockets in scoring and plus-minus.  The Nationals would come back and outscore the Rockets 3-1 over the balance of the game winning 4-3 on a goal by Austin Kemp with 67 seconds remaining. The London win allowed then to slip past the Rockets in the GOJHL standings.  The game was played at the West Middlesex Memorial Centre on October 18, 2014.

I contacted all the teams back in July about the blog and see if they would be interested in contributing stories about their own teams, but nobody seems to be into the idea quite yet.

I’ve tossed around the idea of doing it myself, but the West takes up enough of my time, plus my full time job, and my social life. Also, I can’t write about the other 2 as well as I can write about the West.

I just happened to stumble upon Curtis, who wrote the Shoe Notes piece, but he’s a full time student, so can’t dedicate the time to it that I can/have.

These articles are great, just wondering why we can’t find anyone to cover any of the “Shoe” games on this blog? I know it’s on a volunteer basis, but it would be great to have videos and articles about “Shoe” teams like there is about the Western teams.

Anyone out there reading this, a lot of people are interested in getting better coverage of our division.

Just pitching the thought to whoever may have the interest & time.
