1. Who do you model your game after? Why?

Shea Weber.  He’s a 2-way player, contributes to the offence, has a shut down role with the Predators, and he’s aggressive.

2. When did you start playing hockey?

4 years old

3. Were you drafted to the OHL and by which team?  What year were you drafted?

In 2010, I was the 8th round pick of the Kitchener Rangers.

4. How many years have you been with this team, or in the league?

This is my 2nd season with the Dutchmen.  I love playing here.  Everyone in the organization is great, they treat you like your family, and it’s great being here.

5. Besides your home rink, what’s your favourite arena to travel to? Why?

I love playing in Cambridge.  It’s a great old arena.  The Winter Hawks have a great fan base, so there’s a lot of noise and the games are intense there.

6. What team do you love playing against? Why?

I love playing them all.  I love playing the game of hockey and each game is an opportunity for me to get better.

7. What do you like to do outside of the rink?

Hanging with the guys, playing some pick up hockey, or video games, or just chilling.

8. What type of player are you? Goal scorer, grinder, enforcer, agitator, etc.

I’m a shut down defenceman.

9. Favourite hockey memory

Making the OHL cup in my minor midget year.  It was a great experience and one I’ll never forget.

10. Everyone wants to win the Sutherland Cup, so besides that, what are your personal goals for the season?

I want to be the player that everyone looks for when I’m on the ice.

11. Are there any areas of your game that you need to improve on?

I feel I need to work on my offensive side.  I like to get into the rush of the play.

12. Are you a leader with your team?  How do you try to guide the rookies?

I try to stay positive and do my part.  I try to make the rookies feel comfortable and if 1 of them is having a bad game, I’m there for them, someone for them to listen to, and get them back on track.

You all know that I am a die-hard Rockets fan, but I am also a die-hard GOJHL fan, having been watching Jr. B hockey since I was 10 years old. I will only watch the GOJHL and during the hockey season, you never know what arena RG is gonna show up at. I'm bringing you the games, news, and updates of the GOJHL. RG is on Facebook at and you can find me on Twitter at If you hear of anything about any of the teams in the GOJHL, or have questions about anything, feel free to post it. If I don't know the answer, I know how to find it.
