KILGOUR’S PENALTY SHOT GOAL IGNITES ROCKETS

From a tiny spark the mighty fire begins.  In this case it was the Strathroy Rockets who trailed the London Nationals 2-0 heading into the third period on Wednesday, November 12 at the Western Fair Community Centre.

Just 2:39 into the final frame Rocket Jack Kilgour was awarded a penalty shot, the singular most exciting play in all of sport, after being hailed down by National defenseman Justin Murray.

Kilgour took advantage of the rare situation and slipped the puck between National goaltender Justin Tugwell’s legs on a slick move.

Kilgour would add his second of the night 2:33 later to tie the match before Nick Boyer potted the game winner at 14:19.
