You Make The Call 11

Just because I took some flack over this on Sun., you make the call.  Did Jack Kilgour run Bo Bessette over, or did he just make contact to warrant the goaltender interference call?

I know what type of player Jack is and I know it wasn’t intentional.  I also think Bessette over sold it trying to draw the penalty.  Clearly he was shaken up though as Nick Griffin tied the game up, short handed, on the next play.

Also on the video, at about 2:46, is from earlier in the game, in the first period, when Mark MacAulay was getting a little too close to the crease for Bessette’s liking and he took a shot at him with the blocker to what appears to be the throat area.  Bessette received 2 min. for high sticking.  Do you think that was appropriate, or should he have received a stiffer penalty?

You all know that I am a die-hard Rockets fan, but I am also a die-hard GOJHL fan, having been watching Jr. B hockey since I was 10 years old. I will only watch the GOJHL and during the hockey season, you never know what arena RG is gonna show up at. I'm bringing you the games, news, and updates of the GOJHL. RG is on Facebook at www.facebook.com/TheRocketGirl16 and you can find me on Twitter at www.twitter.com/TheRocketGirl16 If you hear of anything about any of the teams in the GOJHL, or have questions about anything, feel free to post it. If I don't know the answer, I know how to find it.

The high sticking penalty was enough. Everyone knows why he did it. MacAulay has been known to play on the edge.

He made contact with the goalie on purpose. But the goalie also put on an academy award on the dive.

They both should’ve gotten a penalty. Kilgour for goalie interference, Bessette for unsportsmanlike conduct.

Rocket girl, I’m neutral on this play because I’m from the other league, but watching it twice, in my opinion the goalie took a dive & won a acting award in my books.
