STARS ANNOUNCE OWNERSHIP AND COACHING CHANGE
For Immediate Release
August 26, 2015
St. Thomas, ON – Joe Daniels is now the sole owner of the St. Thomas Jr. B Stars.
Head Coach Ron Horvat had shared the ownership of the team with Daniels since 2009. Their track record together included a Western Conference Championship in 2010/2011. Daniels bought out Horvat’s ownership shares on Monday.
Horvat will step down from the head coaching job and will make way for Darren Kelly to become the new bench boss for the upcoming 2015/2016 season. Kelly was announced as an assistant coach to Horvat back in May. Adam Nemeth and Pat Ouellet will continue in their roles as assistant coaches with the team.
“It was a pleasure working with Ron (Horvat) over the years and I wish him all the best in his future endeavours” says Stars Owner and General Manager Joe Daniels, “I look forward to working with the new coaching staff and continuing to develop hockey players.”
The St. Thomas Stars will host their first home exhibition game on Friday, August 28th at 7:30pm. Further details about player signings, upcoming events and the regular season schedule can be found on our website www.stthomasstars.com.
