Maroons Make Moves – by C. Scott Holland

The Chatham Jr. B Maroons have been busy making moves recently. Two players have been sent to the Great Lakes Jr. C loop and another player has signed with the team.

Gone from the Maroons’ roster are defenseman Ben Nicholls who was sent to the Dresden Kings and forward Logan Percy who was dealt to the Lakeshore Canadiens.

The 17 year-old Nicholls, who hails from Chatham, had appeared in 17 games for Chatham and had 1 g. and 3 a.

Logan Percy, a 6′ 3″ forward and a 8th round selection of the London Knights from the 2012 Priority Draft, was in his rookie season.  He had played in 24 games and scored 1 goal while assisting on 13 others and had 50 penalty minutes for the Maroons and now rejoins Lakeshore where he had played from 2013-15.

Joining the Maroons is 18 year-old forward Nolan VandenBoorn who hails from Ridgetown. He has played 8 games for the Maroons and nabbed one goal.
