On Thursday, Decenber 17th when the OHL Windsor Spitfires host the Saginaw Spirit (7:05 pm at the WFCU Centre), there will be several former Vipers players suiting up for the two clubs.

Among them are Spitfire regulars Aaron Luchuk, Daniel Beaudoin and Andrew Burns plus recent call-up defenseman Kyle Auger.

Plus the Spirit will have grads Devon Paliani and recently acquired goaltender Cameron Zanussi (from the Mississauga Steelheads).

Fans are asked to help the holiday-themed contest by donning green, red or an ugly Christmas sweater – and can have their photos taken with one of Santa’s visiting elves who will make a special journey from the North Pole.

The family-friendly contest will feature holiday-themed entertainment throughout the night, including a performance by local star Crystal Gage, as well as other up-and-coming singers.

The LaSalle Vipers Junior B Hockey team are one of 26 current GOJHL teams and have the Vollmer Culture & Recreation Complex in LaSalle, Ontario as their home. In 2010, the Vipers won the Sutherland Cup (GOJHL) Championship. Notable alumni include: Tie Domi, Joel Quenneville, Ed Jovanowski, Kyle Wellwood, D.J. Smith, Scott Lehman, Adam Nemeth, Mickey Renaud, Stubby Clapp, Eric Wellwood, Ryan Wilson and Hunter Smith.
