Former Flyers, Stars Player Eric Henderson Traded To Oshawa By London Knights – by C. Scott Holland
Former Leamington Flyers (2013/14-2014/15), St. Thomas Stars (2015/2016) forward, Eric Henderson has been traded to the OHL Oshawa Generals by the London Knights in exchange for Jacob Graves and a 3rd round draft pick.
Although the Stars had anticipated such a move occurring, it creates an offensive void for the second-place West Conference team. The only good news for the Stars is that they have until Jan. 10 to trade for another high-quality scorer.
Henderson, a 6′ 1″ Kingsville, Ontario native was drafted by London in the third round of the 2014 Priority Draft. He had struggled offensively this season having scored only once and adding 18 assists. During his three-year GOJHL career he appeared in 61 games, scoring 21 times while collecting 41 assists for 62 points; of his 21 markers, 11 came with a man advantage.
He was with the Flyers last season when they won the Weir Cup and was of member of the Rookie All-Star Team and played in the Top Prospects contest.
The Flyers, Stars and Knights all wish him well with his new team the Oshawa Generals.
