Canucks Sign Free Agent Tynan Lauziere – by C. Scott Holland
One of the few kinds of signings that occurs at this time of the season – post trade deadline – is that of inking a free agent player. The Niagara Falls Canucks have done just that as they try to prepare for the forthcoming playoffs as they signed Tynan Lauziere, a free agent goalie who has played in the GOJHL previously with three different teams.
The 5′ 10″ netminder, who is 19, began his GOJHL carer with his hometown, the St. Thomas Stars. He jumped to the Strathroy Rockets for two seasons, one of which he posted his best numbers. In 2013/14 Lauziere was 14-8, had two shutouts and a 3.15 gaa. He then saw a lot of rubber in Pelham with the last place Panthers.
During his GOJHL career he has started in 72 games and carries a 23-39 record. He made 2,208 saves and faced 2,516 shots for a 4.78 goals against average and an 87.8% save percentage.
In his first game with the Canucks on Fri. Jan. 22nd, he served as Niagara Falls’ spare goaltender.
The GOJHL wishes him all the best with his new team.
