Cancellations Pile Up – by C. Scott Holland
Inclement weather conditions in the London to Forest region has caused more scheduling headaches for a few teams.
The St. Marys Lincolns who were suppose to play three games in three days have had their second contest of the three games postponed because of nasty weather. With very little room in which to squeeze the cancelled contests, it appears that the Lincs swill be playing a game every other day for the next two weeks. They were set to travel to Leamington for Thursday and Strathroy on Saturday.
The Strathroy Rockets, who have a light schedule, will have to make up an away game at Lambton and a home contest vs the Lincolns.
The Lambton Shores Predators have two home contests to reschedule – one with Strathroy and another against London.
Normally these types of cancellations occur in January and there is plenty of time for teams to find a convenient date for a makeup. The sudden winter chill along with snow squalls and strong winds have created hazardous conditions and the safety of all players, team personnel and fans is foremost.
While the weather has caused havoc with schedules, the GOJHL and the teams involved will manage to work out feasible solutions.
In the meantime keep checking Pointsteak or your team’s website or facebook page for up-to-date info.
