On Saturday, September 30 at the WMMC a 4-goal second period paced the visiting St. Thomas Stars to a 6-4 win over the Rockets in front of 309 fans.  The two teams were tied 2-2 after one period of play.  The Rockets added a pair of goals in the third period but were unable to get any closer.

The Stars received a balanced attack as 6 different players found the back of the Rocket net behind Zack Weir and Josh Diamond.  Thomas McLatchie, Craig McKague, Peter Fleming, Justin Bedour, Mason Millman and Ryan Rosborough tallied for the Stars.

TJ Harris added to his team leading goal and point totals with a pair of markers while Brady MacDonald and Cameron Rombouts added singles.  The trio had stellar performances.  Harris, MacDonald and Rombouts led all Rockets with 3 shots on goal.

The Stars outshot the Rockets 37-29.  Weir allowed 6 goals on 27 shots while Diamond stopped all 10 shots that came his way in relief.  Both teams were unsuccessful on the powerplay.  The Rockets had 1 shot on 2 chances while the Stars had 5 shots on 3 chances.  Anthony Hurtubise earned the win for the Stars.

The Stars utilized a strong forecheck and short, sharp, crisp passes to exit their zone and penetrate the Rocket defensive zone.  The Rockets again struggled in the faceoff circle winning 25 of 76 draws (32.9%).
