KOMOKA MOVES INTO TIE FOR SEVENTH WITH WIN OVER STRATHROY

On Halloween Night, the Rockets made their debut visit to the Komoka Wellness Centre with the Kings skating away with a rare 4-1 win.  The former Lambton Shores Predators had little success against the Rockets.  Strathroy enjoyed a 42-2-1-3 record during the Predators’ 8-year history.

The two clubs skated through a very evenly played scoreless opening period.  The Kings led 2-1 after two periods outshooting the Rockets 17-5.  Dobbin and Joel Mazzilli each had a pair of goals for the Kings.  Michael Wood replied for the Rockets.  Weir (5-10-1) took the loss in goal for the Rockets while Gies (2-6-2) picked up the Kings’ first home win of the season (1-4-2).  The Rockets have won just a single game on the road this season (1-9-0-1).  Final shots favoured Komoka 39-23.  The Kings also dominated the faceoff circle winning 35 of 61 draws (57.4%).  Special teams once again hurt the Rockets.  Komoka secured the win with a pair of third period powerplay goals.  The Rockets went 0-5 with the man advantage while the Kings were 2 for 6.  Brady MacDonald and Cameron Rombouts had outstanding games for the Rockets.
